Evaluation of Chemical Composition of Hamadan Propolis as a Potential Anticancer Agent

: This study aimed to evaluate the chemical composition and anticancer activity of Hamadan propolis essential oil methanolic extract on HCT116 cell line. The was evaluated by using MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide) test colorectal analyzed gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID) chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). total flavonoid phenolic content were assessed aluminum chloride colorimetric procedures Folin-Ciocalteu (F-C) assay, respectively. results assay confirmed properties Moreover, 30 compounds characterized from oil, main which included β-udesmol (25.7%), α-udesmol (20.4%), α-copaen-11-ol (13.7%), γ-udesmol (10.1%). In addition, 14.12 mg/g 32.01 dry weight, summary, most important constituents β-u desmol, α-eudesmol, α-copaen, γ-u desmol. Despite cytotoxic effects HCT116, further evaluation is recommended.
